Horatio Alger Association Partners with NIHUB to Power Its Venture Accelerator Program

Association’s Venture Accelerator Program will provide support to Horatio Alger Scholars and Alumni seeking to validate business concepts and develop scalable ventures

Miami, FL (August 3, 2021) – Nursing Innovation Hub, Inc. (NIHUB), a nurse-led healthcare technology business accelerator, and the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc., a nonprofit educational organization honoring the achievements of outstanding individuals and encouraging youth to pursue their dreams through higher education, today announced a partnership to provide Horatio Alger Scholars and Alumni the opportunity to participate in the Association’s newly launched Venture Accelerator Program. The program was developed to help entrepreneurs and aspiring innovators to turn ideas into workable solutions and scalable ventures.

The Venture Accelerator Program was established by Horatio Alger Alumni Scholars Nathan Nguyen and Lydel Wright. It provides Horatio Alger Scholars and Alumni the opportunity to learn basic principles of entrepreneurship, business operations and new venture development from some of the nation’s most respected innovation experts. As entrepreneurs, investors and educators from industries including healthcare, business, technology and education, program instructors provide guidance to participants during the early stages of launching their start-ups, helping them to validate business concepts and develop scalable ventures.

“Through our structured high growth programs and network, NIHUB provides everything aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators need to succeed from business development to technology infrastructure,” said Aliya Aaron, MSHS, BSN, RN, NIHUB’s founder and CEO. “The Horatio Alger Venture Accelerator Program will pair Scholars and Alumni with expert mentors and provide them with the tools and skills necessary to launch, grow and scale promising new ventures. We are proud to work with such an amazing organization to support promising young people with the resources they need to succeed as entrepreneurs.”

Program participants will have the opportunity to matriculate through three major program areas: Six-Week Master Class, Six-Week Bootcamp and the Horatio Alger Association Accelerator (HAAX), a three-to-six-month program that accepts a limited number of selected ventures that have successfully completed the Master Class and Bootcamp and have potential for rapid growth.

“The Horatio Alger Alumni Association was established 17 years ago, and I’m incredibly proud of Nathan and Lydel for conceptualizing and launching this innovative Venture Accelerator Program,” said Terrence J. Giroux, executive director of the Horatio Alger Association. “The impressive roster of expert instructors will help our Scholars and Alumni build a foundational understanding of entrepreneurship and business, and I look forward to learning more about their early-stage ventures as they continue to grow.”

The program is open to all Horatio Alger Scholars and Alumni. No prerequisite needed, just a desire to learn and dream big.
